6 Things To Do On The Sunshine Coast This Long Weekend
It’d be hard to believe if it weren’t for the calendars popping up on our computers and phones, but this weekend is (surprise!) another long weekend. We kid you not!
Thanks to Queensland’s love of clunking all the long weekends into the space of a month, we’re gearing up for three MORE days out of the office.
And what better way to make the most of the Labour Day long weekend, than ticking off as many things to do on the Sunshine Coast as you can muster.
Caravãna Sun at Solbar | Friday, April 28
Set the tone for the whole long weekend by nabbing last-minute tix to Caravãna Sun at Sol Bar. Taking to the stage to share their acclaimed third album Guerrilla Club, we bet our last buck this show is gonna be a goodie. Starting at 8pm, we reckon clock-off drinks at Orleans, followed by burgers at Hello Harry will give you enough sustenance to stay on the d-floor—all night long (na nana na).
Moto X Good Bar | Sunday, April 29
Two of our fave Sunshine Coast food haunts are joining forces this weekend for Burger Sunday. The Good Bar crew are pulling up their food truck at Moto in Noosa from 5pm, and will be serving their delish burgers and fries to the masses. Wash it all down with beers and spirits from Moto, topped off with smooth DJ beats. What could make this Sunday sesh even better? It’s a public holiday on Monday! Woot!
Time Warp Festival | Saturday, April 29
It’s baaaack! Rockabilly music, hotrods, market stalls, pin up, and motorbikes are taking over Palmwoods this Labour Day long weekend for the Time Warp Festival. If you’re a lover of all things old school, this shindig is bananas! And with entry a mere gold coin donation, you’ll have plenty of dosh left over for a burger at Rick’s later on. The family-friendly fun kicks off at 10am and goes till 10pm.
Set Mo | Saturday, April 29
Looking to make the most of the public holiday AKA the extra “recovery day” by partying it up on the Sunshine Coast this long weekend? The dudes at Old Soul are your go-to, locking in the likes of Set Mo and local spinner Tim Fuchs. Free entry before 10pm, so don’t dilly dally—there’s plenty of cocktails to be downed!
Beach Clean Up | Sunday, April 30
In between all of the partying, eating, and rockabillying, help make our beaches more beautiful and take part in the mammoth clean up at Kings Beach. Don your gloves and lug along a basket or bucket to gather up all the junk that could sadly end up in our ocean if we don’t do something. Interested? Round up your mates and get to the beach entrance closest to the surf club at 9am. We’re already taking our hats off to you, you awesome do-gooder, you.
Weekend Adventures | All Day, Everyday
Still looking for things to do on the Sunshine Coast this Labour Day long weekend? Why not venture out on one of our favourite scenic drives? Nothing says YOLO like eating too many lollies in the car and pulling funny faces out the passenger window. Get back to nature with one of these incredible camping spots or take a dip in one of these seriously secret swimming spots. Better yet, combine them all and make your long weekend one to brag about.
