A Fancy Restaurant Is Popping Up On The Beach In Noosa (Plus A Whole Bunch Of Other Cool Sh*t)
The very cool and extremely delicious Noosa Food & Wine Festival is back from May 18 to 21, and it’s bringing with it French Saloon, a one hatted restaurant all the way from Melbourne.
Pitching its tent on the shores of Main Beach on Friday, May 19 and Sunday, May 21, the French Saloon pop up restaurant will be dishing out a mouth-watering seven course dinner with some of the smoothest wines from Catalina Sounds, along with beats provided by international DJs who have played Ibiza and Cafe del Mar. The best bit? You don’t even need to wear shoes!
If you like the sound of Ora King Salmon rillettes, King Island beef with bone marrow butter, and duck carpaccio with cucumber, pomegranate, labneh and olive dust, then you better get tickets quick smart.

Friday, May 19 to Sunday, May 21
When you’re not dining like kings and queens at French Saloon, make your way to The Woods Wine and Produce Village to taste drops from more than 30 winemakers, watch chefs cook up a storm on the main stage, knock back crustaceans at the Asahi Super Dry Oyster Bar, enjoy live music, and watch the sun go down at Miss Moneypenny’s Sunset Lounge. Tickets are $30 (or $35 at the gate) and include a glass of wine and a Plumm glass to take home. While you’re there, be sure to stop by the music main stage to enjoy beats from Tim Sullivan, Hugo Gruzman, Surahn, Greg Sara, and more.
2. A Seafaring Adventure At Locale
Friday, May 19
Bringing together some of Australia’s best chefs and fishermen, A Seafaring Adventure is not to be missed if you are crazy about seafood. Join Andy Davies (Locale), Ben Williamson (Gerard’s Bistro) and Paul West (River Cottage Australia) as they shuck, fillet and serve freshly caught seafood from raw bars, fire pits and wood ovens. You’ll get to have a yarn with the crew and sip on natural wines from Cullen and Quartz Reef. Tickets are $220 and it’ll be worth every penny!
3. Oysters + Sparkling At Cafe Le Monde
Friday, May 19
An evening of curated wine and oysters, you say? Where do we sign up?! Wapengo Rocks’ Shane Buckley and Mountadam Vineyards’ Helen McCarthy will be on hand shucking wild organic oysters and pouring award winning wines for you to enjoy all night long. Festivities kick off at 6.30pm and tickets will only set you back $85. See you there!
4. Up Close And Personal With Sat Bains At Wasabi
Saturday, May 20
Bringing delectable recipes all the way from two star Michelin restaurant Sat Bains in the UK, you’ll get to join 11 other hungry hippos at this intimate soiree hosted by the chef extraordinaire himself. Sip on perfectly matched Cullen wines as you get the rare chance to get up close and personal with this internationally renowned chef.
5. The Urban Winery At Peppers
Thursday, May 18 to Sunday, May 21
Ultimate winos and all round legends Dan Sims and Mike Bennie will take you through a series of wine masterclass like no other at The Urban Winery. Expect zero wine wankery and plenty of fun at these sessions held through the festival. We’re super keen to head to the Pinot Palooza, Bangers and Smash (all about which wines to guzzle with your BBQ) and Where The Wild Wines Are (which will see you swigging on new-wave wines produced around the country).
